Netscape Mail 3.x

Follow the instructions below to set up your mailbox in Netscape 3.x Mail (you may want to print out these instructions to refer to):

  1. On the Netscape menu bar, click Options -> Mail and News Preferences.

  2. Select the Servers tab.

  3. Enter the following settings:
    • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.Telkom.co.za
    • Incoming Mail (POP) Server (given to you during registration): pop3.Telkom.co.za
    • Pop User Name: Telkomxxxx (the xxxx is replaced with your unique number). Example: Telkom12345

  4. Click OK to save the settings.


To check your mailbox and to send email:

  1. On the Netscape menu bar, click Window -> Netscape Mail.

  2. When prompted, enter your password. This password is the same password you used to connect to the Internet.

  3. If you have any email in your mailbox, it will display in the window. To read an email message, click the message.

  4. To send an email message, click the To:Mail button.

  5. To send an email message to someone, you need to know their email address. Enter the email address in the Mail To field. If you want, you can enter a subject for the message in the Subject field.

  6. Type your message and click the Send button
